Lake View's math team met and competed with teams from high schools from all around the city on Saturday, November 21st. Students Anaam Ahmed, Uzair Ahmed, Vogel Fletcher, Patrick Kelly, and Sammy Sanchez were in attendance. Our team was awarded a number of awards. Lake View received first place in the video competition. The students made a video in which they explained the mathematics behind how many different ways twelve donuts could be distributed among six students. Vogel Fletcher also walked away with a first prize ribbon for receiving the highest score in the Algebra I competition. At this pace, Vogel is a serious contender to win first prize at the end of the year for having the highest cumulative score among freshman mathematics students.
