Black Student Union
Objective / Mission
The Black Student Union (BSU) serves as a forum for communication between students of African descent (and other minorities) and the faculty and staff at LVHS. Concentrating on the Black/African-American community, BSU engages the LVHS community in efforts to promote cultural diversity and peaceful coexistence of multicultural groups at LVHS.Through discussions, events, and guest speakers, BSU advocates the needs of LVHS students while empowering, teaching, discussing, and exploring the Black experience.
BSU encourages unity, inspires leadership, and asserts dignity. If you want to represent culture, meet new people with unique ideas, and have fun, the Black Student Union is the place to be.
“We long for unity but are unwilling to pay the price. But of course, true unity cannot be so easily won. It starts with a change in attitudes - a broadening of our minds, and a broadening of our hearts.” --- Barack Obama
