Linda Kim has been teaching at Lake View since 2008 and has been working with youth since 2001. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology at U of I and then earned her M.Ed. in English Education at UIC. She began this amazing path of working with and empowering youth when she did Americorps, right after graduating college, when she packed up everything she owned into her little Nissan to head to California. Luckily, she came back to Chicago and found a school that she loves, Lake View HS. Since then, she has taught English, Reading, Speech and continues to sponsor the Poetry Club. She has served as the coach for LV’s Slam Poetry Team for the past seven years. When she is not engaged in the methodical magic of teaching her wonderful students, she is busy hanging out with her husband and ginormous Great Dane or hopefully painting, writing or dancing.
