Sergeant Major Scott D. Halling was born in Chicago, IL and was raised in Rogers Park. He attended Armstrong Elementary School and Sullivan High School. He entered into the U.S. Army in October 03, 1975 and attended his basic training and advance individual training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He served 28 years and retired from active duty in 2003. He has been the Senior Army Instructor of the Army JROTC program here at Lake View High School for the past 15 school years. He has been married to Michelle Halling for 29 years and they have 2 daughters, Jean 32 and Anne 24.
