Year started at LVHS: 2014
Brian earned a degree in the Teaching of History from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition to teaching, Brian was fortunate to work as a Dean of Students at Second Chance, a CPS alternative school in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. During this time he learned about how to use restorative practices to help students make lasting changes in their lives. At Lake View, Brian continues to lead work in this area - spending part of his day mediating disputes, leading talking circles, and implementing the best use restorative practices to improve decision making. When Brian is not teaching, he enjoys reading and spending my time outdoors with family and away from technology. He is passionate about the environment and loves being in nature, whether cross-country skiing, taking a walk, or just sitting.
