Madeline Gerena-Franco

Madeline Gerena-Franco began working at Lake View High School in August of 2013, as a computer science and mathematics teacher. Before that, she work at a parochial in the south side of Chicago, teaching mathematics. She received her B.S in Computer Science and Mathematics from Northeastern University, in which she worked for thirteen years as an Electronic Coordinator in a neighborhood bank. Later on, she took her passion for numbers and computers, and went back to school to become a teacher in those fields, as she received her Teaching Certification. Ms. Gerena-Franco has lead the Lake View Tech Crew into three 1st place trophies during our STEM school competition in the 2013-14 school year, and 2014-15 school year. Lake View Tech Crew has been the technology champions for three years in a row, and will continue to work hard to defend their championship. In addition Ms. Gerena-Franco has been selected as one of the top 100 teachers in the United States to teach Computer Science. Finally, Ms. Gerena-Franco has a passion for quotes, one of her favorite quotes as she mentors her students is “the struggles you’re in today, is developing the strength you need for tomorrow.”
